Top Positive Review

I LOVE this paper! We used regular children??s paints on them and colors look brighter and easier to apply than other paper. The paper is glossy, which does not soak the water like others. I compared ??watercolor pad?? by crayola and this Melissa and Doug paper and you can see how much better everything looks. I have been looking everywhere for good paper for my toddler to draw on and this is it! I highly recommend parents to try it.

Top Critical Review

Ugh, I had high hopes for this paper after reading other reviews, but no…it is not good. It IS glossy compared to their easel paper, but it does not hold up to paint. I have tried several brands, so if anyone has a recommendation, comment below. The cover claims that this paper is coated. I know a thing or two about paper manufacturing and I would be really shocked if this was truly coated. To me, it appears that this paper has been supercalendared which is a process to reduce absorbency and increase moisture resistance. This paper is also very thin. We??ll be keeping it bc it still makes good drawing paper for my one year old who does better with a bigger surface area, but we??re still on the hunt for true fingerpaint paper.

Customer Questions & Answers

What makes this ??finger paint?? paper?
Answer: Finger paint is thicker than other paints and this paper is glossy and the paint absorbs the paint better than typical construction or other types of paper. Not using finger paint paper often results in a bigger mess and not being able to save the painting for later or display.

Would this paper also be good for watercolors? Thanks!
Answer: Hi Jenna! Although designed for finger paint, you may certainly use watercolors on this paper for a different creative effect! Paint on…

Is the Melissa and Doug easel paper ok for finger painting too, or is there a point to purchasing a separate roll for just finger painting?
Answer:

Finger paint paper has a shiny surface that absorbs finger paint a bit better than regular paper. Finger paint is very thick and can bleed through most paper. I’m not sure what the roll of paper is to which you are referring. I just know when my children have not used finger paint paper when finger painting its resulte??

Can you use this paper with crayons too?
Answer: No, the paper is “slippery”

Is this paper acid free?
Answer: I do not know if it is acid free. Does not say in the decription..
