I added this to a long hot water run from a tankless gas water heater to service two faucets. I went with this one b/c it will regulate its heating based on the incoming water temp. Easy to install and wire up. One thing I was not aware of was the warranty registration requires a licensed installer. Guess I am on my own with this one now.

5/4/17 It has been a few months now and we love having this heater inline to our tankless gas heater. Quick hot water for washing hands. No regrets or problems with this yet.

I will never purchase from this company again. I purchased a water heater to replace our eco smart water heater in our rental home. I bought it August 30, got it September 6th and had it professionally installed. Less than a month later the water heater went out. I had a guest in my home and on Friday night she emailed to tell me she had no hot water. I had to call our installer out and he said that the power/thermostat button was not acting right and was faulty. That he would fix it but it would probably go out again. I immediately order a replacement for it. The next day it went out again. I had to refund my guest almost $700 and spent an additional $291 for emergency call and another almost $300 to get the new water heater installed. Amazon refused to help and EcoSmart refused to help. Citing that they do not cover that and if they did the water heaters would be much more expensive. I believe one of these companies and their millions of dollars should step up and be accountable for the reliability and quality of this product.

Customer Questions & Answers

Does this work in india. What should I buy apart from just this heater? Is gas required?
Answer: I don’t know does it works in india. I think special fitting may require for you. This unit does not require gas, it requires 240 Volt, 40 amp in 60 hz.

will freezing weather damage it
Answer: As long as the water is able to run though the pipes it won’t but the water won’t be very hot. Only heats the water to a certain degree above original temp. Check the specs on the web site for more detail.

Ecosmart 8, location central texas, home workshop to supply hot water for dog bath and sink. personel use, not a business, 2 big dogs. will this work?
Answer:

This unit heats water by 45??F at a flow rate of 2.0 GPM (and a proportionately lower temperature rise with a higher flow rate, and higher temp. rise with lower flow rate). All tankless water heaters operate on the same principle.

A standard-flow showerhead uses 2.0 GPM. Therefore, you should add 45??F to your incomin??

Does this unit accept hot water without damaging it? I want it to produce instant hot water until the main house hotwater heater services the faucet.
Answer:

I know that the temperature of the water determines the maximum temp the water can be heated to. I think if you connect it to the regular hot water line, it would be fine. It does take a few seconds to be really hot. If it’s just a sink, they make sink sized ones, too. I love this water heater! It is serving a remote b??

Could this be used to slowly heat a small above ground pool? Just wanting it warmer.
Answer:

Funny how all of the answers here are probably not, I doubt it or I wouldn’t. Don’t answer the question if you don’t actually know.

I use the eco 8kw coupled to a standard water heater recirculation pump and it works well for 2000 gallon pool. I would say though 8 kw is minimum for this much water. I can maintai??
