Canson 98lb is my go to for almost everything, from sketching to layouts, to doodles to finished art. I use it so much that buying in bulk is a great option.
I love it for pencil and ink. Just enough tooth to give me the texture I’m looking for. Works great for markers and can handle acrylic, gouache and watercolor (although it will wrinkle up a little to a lot depending on how wet your paint is). Most wrinkles can be pressed out though.
Can be hard to erase deep pencil lines so watch your pressure.
The only issues I’ve had are banged up corners on the stack or a light crease as a result of shipping. Doesn’t always happen, but I’m prepared that it may. My art rarely extends to the edge of the page so it hasn’t been an issue for me but the perfectionists out there may be disappointed.
Canson consistently makes an excellent product. Can’t recommend their paper enough!

Paper is fine. I??ve used this brand before. I just wish the description would have stated that this is 100 LOOSE-LEAF sheets of paper, and it has absolutely no protective packaging. It only has a thin sheet of cellophane you tear open to get to the paper. I expected a pad of paper where you tear out each sheet individually. That would have been much easier to store. If I??d known what I know now, I would never have purchased this to begin with.
Customer Questions & Answers
What is the weight of this paper?
Answer: As I recall, it’s 98 lb. It’s the same as the paper in the Canson Mixed Media sketchbooks.
Somewhere in the description, it should tell you for sure what the weight is.
do you think would be strong enough to print a diamond painting on?
Answer: I looked at diamond painting, I don’t think this would work. You need the heavy weight – 140 lb stock – or canvas.
Is this paper white or off white?
Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for contacting School Specialty regarding the color of the paper.

Is this 100 sheet pack, wire-bound, taped or loose?
Answer: Bulk pack, loose sheets. Nothing holding it together except the cellophane overwrap.
